Make healthy choices Christmas can be excessive. Take care of yourself and avoid taking on too much of anything, such as sugar, alcohol, food, excitement, spending, stress, other peoples’ issues.
Keep to your budget and resist the pressure to overspend. There are other ways to show you care
Make it yourself Easy inexpensive and homemade gifts include a poem, a photo in a frame, tea in a mug, a plant or a candle, flowers you grew, a bookmark, bath salts, an artwork, a wish jar, an offer of time to do something together or an act of service Look in op shops for something unique or for books.
Reduce Christmas waste by using less Christmas wrap. Consider fabric, or recycled packaging, or painting your own festive wrapping paper.
Prevent fires by ensuring electrical outlets are clean and clear, power boards are not overloaded and the Christmas tree is well away from any potential fire hazards.
Take care of your community this Christmas. If you know someone is on their own, pop in with a plate of something yummy and perhaps share a cuppa. And especially: Be good to yourself
Wishing everyone a peaceful festive season
