To Keep Spiders at Bay
This solution is an inhibitor, not an insecticide. Stuff the broom head down the leg of a pair of pantyhose and secure by tying the bags around the handle. Wipe two drops of lemon oil over the panty hose, then sweep away any cobwebs. The spiders will no longer build their webs there. This will last for around three months.

Cooking Salt
When applied with a damp cloth this is a great heavy-duty abrasive for use on things like rusty BBQ plates.
Recycle Tea Bags
If you tie some tea bags to your broom when you sweep your timber floor, it replaces tannins in the timber and reduces dust mites.
White Staining on Aluminum Frames
This white powdery material is aluminum-oxide. If you place a couple of used wet tea bags in the toe of a pair of pantyhose and polish off the tarnish, the tannic acid in the tea bag will break down the aluminum-oxide.
Rag Bag
To make a rag bag, use an old pillowcase. Attach the open end to the back of the laundry door on a hanger or hook. Alternately you can use an old sleeve –stitch/secure the bottom of the sleeve, and there you go.  Make sure your rags include different types of fabrics for different types of jobs and surfaces -and remember to remove all buttons.
