Tenant Voice Forums update

The Tenant Voice Forums took place in February at locations across the Link Wentworth network.

The Forums were an opportunity for tenants to discuss and expand on some of the issues and concerns they raised in the Tenants Satisfaction Survey with Link Wentworth staff.

Valuable feedback was received, particularly on repairs and maintenance, listening to tenants’ views and acting on them, and processes around handling of complaints and appeals. Open and honest discussion was the purpose of these sessions, with issues discussed including:

  • Specific, ongoing maintenance issues including repairs, access and gardening
  • Concerns with neighbours and other tenants
  • Problems with animals in complexes
  • Unreasonable wait times for contact and response
  • Communication and language barriers.

Link Wentworth staff made action notes in response to each individual request. Tenant overall feedback regarded the sessions included:

  • Expected more attendance from Tenancy Teams and Management
  • Flyers about similar forums need to encourage every tenants’ participation
  • Interpreter needed
  • Open and inclusive, well-facilitated
  • Good job by LW and the heart is in the right place
  • Need to extend session times if we run over
  • Need for better understanding and communication of what the sessions are about.

If you missed the Forums and want to find out more, you can contact the Communities Team on communities@linkwentworth.org.au

Consider joining the Tenant Advisory Group to meet with other tenants and Link Wentworth staff and to have your voice heard.
