February 2024 Meeting
By Mark Shalovsky, TAG member and Editorial Committee
Your Tenant Advisory Group continues to do much important and interesting work.
The year began strongly with a well-attended meeting, held in the conference rooms at the Parramatta Club. About twenty tenants attended and lunch was provided afterwards.
The format this time was slightly different to ‘business as usual’ TAG meetings. This meeting was conducted as a workshop in which Link Wentworth sought the views of tenants on several issues.
Issues that were discussed included –
What tenants thought should be the purpose of the Tenant Advisory Group. The contributions included opportunities to find out about the full range of what Link Wentworth does, make comments on its services, policies and procedures, talk to senior staff, meet other tenants and to be an effective voice for particular groups of tenants.
Considering a draft Terms of Reference and draft Charter for the Tenant Advisory Group, to set outresponsibilities and commitments for both TAG members and Link Wentworth staff who engage with the group.
Afterwards, there was another Service Feedback Session. This gives tenants the opportunity to meet with Link Wentworth staff to discuss individual problems such as maintenance and repairs in their tenancy, cleaning and maintenance of the common property and problems with safety or with difficult neighbours.
All tenants should take an interest in the work of their Tenant Advisory Group. Join it and have your say. It will provide you with real opportunities to learn more about what Link Wentworth Housing does and to make comments on its services, policies and procedures that will be listened to.
